Description

Eldon James British threaded tee fittings are made of tough PVC-free materials for use in beverage, food, medical, industrial, and automotive industries. These tee fittings include two 5/32 to 1/2 inch hose barb connections and one 1/8 to 3/8 inch BSPT connection. They come in packages of 25 (QC only) or 100 units, and select sizes of Kynar are available with cleanroom manufacturing.

BSPT threads utilize the Whitworth thread form, which is designed to provide a pressure-tight fit through the mating of the threads. This is accomplished by cutting the threads on a taper. Because they are tapered, the thread can only screw into the companion female thread a certain distance before it jams. The standard specifies this distance as a length based on hand-tight engagement; a convenient rule-of-thumb for plastic threads is: finger-tight plus 1/2 to 1 turn with a wrench. Overtightening the plastic thread may cause unwanted stress on the fitting.

The hose barb connections of the threaded tee have a single barb design with no mold parting line, which prevents the “leak path” created by parting lines on typical barb connectors. The barbed shaft also includes an anti-rotation device, which prevents the tubing from rotating or twisting on the tee fitting. These features give the fittings a secure and reliable seal.
