Description

The PendoTECH UV-VIS-NIR photometer, when combined with the PendoTECH single-use flow cell, provides non-invasive measurements to identify the absence or presence of a molecule within fluid processes. UV-VIS-NIR photometer has a 0.000-3.00AU measurement range at 0-2AU ±1%FS (±0.03AU); 2-3AU ±2%FS (±0.06AU) accuracy. Benchtop, lab, and panel mount models are available with 206-1000nm single and dual wavelengths to meet the requirements of varying bioprocess applications.

The photometer’s LED provides a specific wavelength(or dual wavelength) range for measurement, selected to coincide with analyte-specific molecular absorbance. This photometer produces a collimated beam of light that passes through a liquid sample with a defined path length. The absorbance is determined as the ratio of the light applied from the source to what passed through the sample.

The PendoTECH UV-VIS-NIR photometer with dual wavelengths allows the user to measure two potentially very different wavelengths within the most commonly used region of the electromagnetic spectrum of 255 to 1000nm. For example, at 280nm the user could detect protein, while at 880nm turbidity could be measured in the same sample simultaneously. A two-wavelength photometer can be used to detect binary mixtures if the products have different absorption spectra. Additionally, measuring the absorbance of a sample at 280nm for detecting proteins and at 260nm for detecting nucleic acids and taking the ratio provides an estimate of the purity of the solution.
